No date:

It was about 1:30-2 am. by the time the party ended. It had been a wonderful day and Shelby was now relaxing in her penthouse. When the day had begun, she had thought it was her last. How foolish of her to believe what that Ouija board had said. It had just been coincidence that the board had guessed the girl would die in the water. Then, that very night...The Ouija board also said that Shelby would die by the time she was 25 years old...when the girl drown in the pool, Shelby believed she would never live past the hour of her 25th birthday. It seems so foolish now. Here she was alive and breathing hours later.

Three times she had let that fear get in her way and change her life. The first was with Garret. Garret loved her but she had let jealousy and fear get in her way. Over time Garret had forgiven her, what else could he do, he was still in love with her. So Garret became one of her most trusted friends and Shelby kept the secret of his love for her hidden in her heart. She never let him become aware of her knowledge.

Billy Ray Cyrus was the latest casualty . He had actually made her forget her fear and agree to marry him. Their wedding date was set for Nov. 13, 2048. When June came Shelby realized it would be her 25th birthday and quickly called the wedding off, without telling him the true reason. That was the second, now on to the third. The third was picking -up a stranger. Jeff Devora , was his name. They had shopped, gone boating and from there to the party her brother was giving her.

It had been a lovely party. Chris and Libby had gone all out for her. Yes, Shelby sighed as she lay herself down on top of her bed, Chris had a great memory. The cake, made with different kinds of chocolate in sections, was made to look like the front of a Limousine. Then across it were written the words: Shelby-Slim,Trim and Sexy. Shelby streched herself out thinking that she did fit the description on the cake. Slowly she nudged her red satin heels from her feet. They landed without a sound on the thick white carpet. Then as she lovingly wrapped herself in the comforter that graced her bed a sigh escaped her parted lips and she was gone.
