Ransom lay on his bed staring at the universe he had carefully reproduced above him. It dipped down his walls like chocolate dipped ice cream. Ransom paced his room for a bit, then tossing himself onto his bed, lay there gazing up at the ceiling. Now and then he would pass his hand over a sensor near his bed, which would cause the star systems to change . He had just recently decided what he wanted to do with his life. He wanted to be a starship captain. He was giving up girls, not completely of course, but for awhile. You couldn't trust them. They would tell you to be honest, that they wanted to hear the truth. RIGHT, NOT!

The only girl he ever knew of who really wanted to hear the complete truth was, not Belize, even she didn't want the truth all the time. Sheridan , maybe, although telling the truth was not the same as having it told to you. Yet he had never seen them run away from the truth.
Ransom sighed, wasn't sure if he was that fond of the truth himself. His father might even call him a cad.

The whole Valentine dance thing with Dionne was a lie. He had never promised to take her any where. Brien had helped perpetuate that lie. Now everyone believed it to be the truth, even Dionne. (Well maybe not Hazel)
How else could he have dated her without looking the fool? Valentines day Dance, the whole phrase was filled with secret meanings. Dionne' had looked beautiful and sophisticated. It was like taking Cinderella to the ball and knowing that she believed he was prince charming. This made Ransom cocky, and so he had been brazen enough to kiss her twice. First sensually and then luxuriously. He had felt her body betray her as it responded to him, That was the point at which he pulled away, afraid she would soon feel his body start to betray him. Ransom wished Dionne' Good morrow, then bowed deeply and disappeared into the night. Right then and there as he lay on his bed he decided that this was his last year in this school. Next stop the academy. Ransom fell asleep, his long and short term goals set , he could afford to rest.

Ransom had just seen Dionne home from the dance. He felt satisfied with himself. Everything had gone just right, from start to finish. From camera flash to kiss goodnight. Two kisses as a matter of fact. Dionne' had looked beautiful and a lot older than he knew her to be. He had gotten away with it. Everyone knew he owed her the dance-date, therefore it held no special meaning, even Dionne believed it. It was all a lie. Dionne could have said no but she took it out of her own hands and gave the responsibility to her mother. Ransom had been charming mothers, fathers and everyone else since he was a child. A piece of cake! Sheridan? No, different story no time to think about that now. Even as he said it, he new he was doing exactly that. Sheridan was Brien's girlfriend. They had been seeing each other and Ransom liked her. She was one year younger than Ransom and her Uncle Dante' didn't like seeing Sheri with Brien, who was older. So when Sheri broke up with Brien she started seeing Ransom. Ransom had been so full of himself at the time that he actually believed that she preferred him to Brien. Sheri did like him.
