It wasn't too long after the Valentines dance that Ransom came to me, and spilled his guts. I of course knew that he had a great talent for getting what he wanted, right up front. So not trusting him, I told him he was nuts. I never expected that he was telling the truth. After that, he wouldn't back off, he was everywhere. Roses in my locker, all kinds of things that earlier this year, he would have seen as damaging to his image... I knew I loved him, and that feeling got stronger as his attention continued. Finally, I had to end it. I couldn't take it any longer, this all had to stop. The next time I saw him, he was begging again, I backed him into a corner, and said I would see him after school.

When I saw him, I told him there was only one way I would finally believe what he had been saying. I kissed him, with all the passion I had been building up inside. When I felt him respond, I knew what I was going to do. I pulled away, looked up at him, and asked him. Do you seriously, truly with all your heart want this for the rest of your life? He responded with yes, Dionne, it is. and I said, I'm all yours then Ransom King, sealing my promise with another kiss.
In April, it was final. He was headed off to the Space Academy after school ended that year.

I wrote him every day, while he was gone. He only got mail once a week, so in return, he would write one letter weekly, covering all the letters he had gotten from me the week before. It was strenuous waiting to be in his arms again.
