When Susan and Mel got together and Susan spread the news to her good friend Dionne, Sheridan's lie came back to her and Dionne wouldn't speak to her. Then she went right ahead and lied to Brien again, telling him that the children were the reason they couldn't be together. Brien didn't believe this , but what could he do but accept it. Brien had loved Sheri all his life it seemed to him. There had always been some reason things hadn't worked out. They had had an affair while she was married to Mel, early in the marriage . They had been together only once. The result was a child. Sheri had given birth to His child first, not Mel's. That was all he had and for some reason Sheri would not marry him.
